Ohio Primary Election Results (Part Two) Summary

The August 2nd special primary is a consequence of the contentious redistricting map issue in Ohio that resulted in two separate primary elections. In May, voters participated in the first primary where they cast ballots for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and more. Yesterday, Ohio held its second primary of 2022 where seats for the Ohio House and Ohio Senate were on the ballot. All 99 Ohio House districts were up for election while half of the Ohio Senate was up for the election. The board of election offices used the district data files for the third district map adopted by the Ohio Redistricting Commission on Feb. 24, 2022. Using these new maps forced many legislative incumbents to run in a new district than they currently serve in, while others remained unaffected.
