County by County Update:

  • The Governor recommended that if you are in a high incidence county, which is 82 of Ohio’s 88 counties, you should do the following:

    • Reconsider hosting or attending gatherings of any size;

    • Cancel events, including Halloween parties;

    • Wear masks inside and outside when you cannot social distance; and,

    • Stay home if you are not well.

  • He also asked Ohio businesses to allow employees to work from home, when possible; to remind employees of the ways they can stop the spread of the virus; and require customers to wear masks.

  • In addition, the Governor indicated that because Ohio’s problem is community spread, he is asking leaders in each county to come together to inventory how they are doing with the pandemic. Moreover, he will begin meeting with counties to learn what the state can do to help the community, and for the community to chart a course to safely get them through this winter.

Hospitalizations Still on the Rise:

  • All areas of the state are seeing increases in the number of COVID patients being treated in hospitals, in Intensive Care Units and on ventilators. Hospitalized COVID-positive patients are at an all-time high.

Election Update:

  • Governor DeWine was joined by Secretary of State Frank LaRose today for an update on the election on November 2, 2020. Secretary LaRose outlined the precautions that the Board of Election offices are taking to keep Ohioans safe while voting. Secretary LaRose also reminded Ohioans that they can cast their vote early in person, by mail or on election day.
