2022 PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS

Amidst a contentious process for drawing a new set of district maps, an incumbent governor facing scrutiny within his own party for his handling of COVID-19, and a seven-way republican primary to replace the soon-to-be retired Rob Portman, Ohioans came out to vote in part one of the 2022 primary election yesterday.  Voters chose their party nominee for Governor, US Senate, US House and state and county offices.  Due to the ongoing challenges surrounding the creation of a new set of Ohio General Assembly maps, a slew of proposals from the Ohio Redistricting Commission are still under legal review by the Ohio Supreme Court and federal court. Barring anything unforeseen, a second primary is expected to be held on August 2 for state legislative races.
